In a field as broad as Communication Studies, I’ve spent the last four years deciding what my career path was going to be. After taking a variety of Communication electives, I decided Public Relations is the route I wanted to take. And many meetings with my counselor later, I decided I needed to get experience outside of the classroom to be sure, and was referred to Bon’s Eye Marketing.
My past internships have widely differed from the one here with Bon’s Eye. Interning with companies in an in-house PR department brought a much different agenda than that of a marketing firm. While interning with Bon’s Eye, I was able to explore the broad spectrum of marketing while working on a variety of projects with many different clients. I enjoyed the variety of work I was given – one day I’d strengthen my writing skills by writing a press release and others I’d be sitting in on client meetings.
It was exciting working on projects that were benefiting the clients. These were things I could never experience in a classroom, like drafting media pitches and preparing social media calendars.
I’m grateful for my opportunity at Bon’s Eye Marketing. I was able to gain knowledge about the field, add numerous new skills to my resume, and work alongside people who I could learn from. I have a much clearer understanding of marketing and am motivated to apply this knowledge in a firm much like Bon’s Eye upon graduation.
